Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy Knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial reporting Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general, corporate, or financial accounting, or in audit (internal/external) Familiar with current accounting standards Strong business writing skills; able to prepare and edit reports and correspondence Good time management and organizational skills; able to prioritize tasks effectively Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications Experienced in using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Bookkeeping Verify accuracy of supplier invoices. Prepare payment requests for service providers and suppliers. Record revenues, payables, journal vouchers, and credit notes accurately in the accounting system. Record accrued expenses and amortization of prepaid expenses at period-end. Ensure new fixed assets are properly recorded and depreciated. Record all receipts under correct accounts. Coordinate with the Finance Team in Hong Kong regarding tax filing, closing deadlines, and other finance-related queries. 2. Bank Reconciliation Assist in weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for HK AFC Clubs. Ensure reconciling items are properly recorded. 3. Financial Reporting Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow) with supporting documents. 4. Audit Assist external auditors during audit activities. 5. Learning and Growth Participate in workshops, seminars, and other learning sessions to enhance job-related skills. 6. Others Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Team Leader or Finance Manager.
Responsibilities
The General Accountant will be responsible for bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and preparing financial reports. They will also assist external auditors and participate in learning sessions to enhance their skills.
