• Ensure proper accounting and financial records and systems are maintained
• Ensure the school maintains costs within agreed budget levels.
• Proactively advise the UAE Head of Finance & Principal around budget efficiencies.
• Financial accounts are produced monthly, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and within agreed timeframes. This includes but not limited to, accruals, prepayments, ECL and FAR management.
• All statutory accounting and tax returns are produced and submitted in accordance with legislation.
• Management of IFRS 16 leases in-accordance with the standard.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
• Production of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to aid both the school and Nord Anglia Education cash management.
• Ensure proper asset management processes are in operation.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors regarding the statutory accounts and other statutory returns.
• Liaise with internal auditors ensuring internal processes are robust and act and implement on any recommendations.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of the latest accounting and tax regulations within the UAE and Internationally.
