REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education focusing on Accounting is essential.
  • CPP level 3 or 4.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in an accounting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Advanced computer skills; specifically, in Excel and computerized accounting systems.
  • Ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Review monthly general ledger report.
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable to general ledger.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable to general ledger.
  • Reconcile all balance sheets to appropriate lead sheets, including Inventory and fixed assets continuity schedules.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Reconcile all funds to appropriate general ledgers.
  • Create and post journal entries
  • Assists in preparation monthly financial statements for all companies under Remco Group.
  • Post Journal Entries and adjusting entries to the General Ledger.
  • File GST, QST payments and other regular government filings.
  • Perform account analysis, following up with appropriate departments on any discrepancies
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding G/L account postings.
  • Assist with annual audits.
  • Assist with annual budget and forecast
  • Prepare and submit to Controller various reports on a weekly basis
  • Maintain filing system.
  • Assist AR team in collections whenever required,
  • Assist AP in weekly cheques run and payments.
  • Provide expert advice as needed and coaching the accounting team.
  • Updating SOP’s on a regular basis.
  • Cross training coworkers.
  • Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.
