SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Reporting, the Manager of General Accounting is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities of Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. This includes overseeing corporate accounting functions, payroll accounting, fixed asset reporting, accounting policies, processes, controls, and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial records.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of accounting experience, including prior management of accounting staff.
  • Public accounting or large corporate experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing-related accounting experience a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills are essential.
  • Experience in payroll reporting and foreign currency exchange a plus.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Blackline, and OneStream is desirable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet assigned deadlines.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and supervise the general accounting staff.
  • Prepare and review Balance Sheet and Income Statement analyses.
  • Review journal entries for accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and ad-hoc activities.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, including governance of the Blackline tool.
  • Assist with month-end reporting packages and analyses for both internal and external customers.
  • Support the preparation of Mitsubishi Power consolidated financial statements, including footnotes in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Manage Record-to-Report (R2R) processes outsourced to third-party service providers (Genpact), including training, reviewing, and revising SOPs as needed.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing accurate and timely documentation.
  • Maintain and govern Cost Center and Profit Center structures in SAP.
  • Support the management and oversight of the fixed asset process.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as required.
