About Us We are a well-established Modern Chinese Restaurant and Cocktail Bar with a strong presence in Liverpool City Centre and Smithdown Road. We are passionate about our unique dining experience, which is complemented by our extensive and carefully crafted cocktail and drinks menu.
The Role We are seeking an experienced General Bar Manager with a strong background in bar management to lead the overall venue. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can drive bar sales, cultivate a positive team culture, and ensure exceptional customer experiences, while overseeing the entire operation. This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position with a salary of up to £30,000. You will be supported by another member of the team who is responsible for the floor and restaurant operations, allowing you to focus on leading the bar and overall business strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Overall Venue Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the restaurant and bar, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing operation. You will be the main point of contact for all departments and be responsible for the venue’s overall success.
  • Bar Operations & Revenue Management: Take ownership of all bar operations, including menu development, stock management, and driving drink sales. Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets by proactively identifying and implementing promotional initiatives (e.g., themed nights, seasonal offers, bank holiday specials). You will be responsible for maximizing revenue opportunities and adjusting strategies based on performance analysis.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team of approximately 10 staff. This involves fostering a positive and motivated work environment, conducting regular briefings on new menus and drinks, and providing coaching sessions. You will manage staff rotas and labor costs effectively, and ensure all mandatory training is completed. You’ll work closely with our team to maintain a positive and supportive work environment, ensuring team performance and handling any disciplinary issues.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, with a focus on delivering a memorable bar and cocktail experience for every guest, while maintaining high standards across the entire venue. This includes promptly and appropriately handling both positive and negative feedback and responding accordingly.
  • Orders & Inventory: Manage inventory and place weekly consumable orders for both bar and restaurant supplies.
  • Housekeeping & Maintenance: Oversee the day-to-day operations, including opening and closing the venue, ensuring cleanliness and general upkeep, and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Food & Hygiene: Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure that food and hygiene requirements are met across the entire operation.
  • Communication: Ensure effective communication between all departments and with management to ensure relevant information is communicated in a timely and professional manner.
