My client, a leading provider of catering and facilities services, is seeking an experienced General Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the seamless delivery of multiple service lines—including Catering, Retail, and associated support services—within a busy, multi-outlet location in Waterford. You will oversee day-to-day operations across all units on site, ensuring exceptional quality, service consistency, and full compliance with company and client standards.
You will lead and develop diverse teams, including catering staff, retail teams, and supervisors, fostering a strong culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Your role will be both strategic and hands-on: balancing operational delivery with commercial management, client relationship building, and staff development.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a structured Monday to Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:30 PM), offering a competitive salary of €45,000 – €50,000 per year, depending on experience. It’s an ideal opportunity for an experienced, results-driven leader with a strong background in Food & Beverage, Retail, or Facilities Management who excels at delivering high-quality, customer-focused services in a complex, fast-paced environment.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in multi-outlet Food & Beverage, Retail, or Facilities Management, ideally with team leadership across multiple service lines.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop large and diverse teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and health & safety standards.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver to agreed service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent quality, compliance with food safety, health & safety regulations, and company policies across all service lines.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with on-site client representatives, responding to feedback and proactively driving service improvements.
  • Ensure effective rostering, training, and performance management for all staff.
  • Champion a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across all units.
