JOB SUMMARY
The Libraries at CU Boulder encourage applications for the General Collections and Japanese Language Metadata Specialist position! This position supports the discovery of Libraries collections through description of materials in multiple formats and by working on Team and Chapter projects. Reporting to the Head of the General Collections Cataloging Section, the Specialist performs original and adaptive cataloging in a variety of formats for the Libraries’ general collections, including new acquisitions, gifts, and other materials, as well as for Japanese language materials. This role also works on PCC-level cataloging, particularly for Japanese entities and materials. This position also collaborates with other Libraries teams and sections to support Japanese language needs for non-MARC metadata and archival descriptions and assists Japanese language bibliographers with acquisitions duties as needed. In coordination with the Section head for General Collections Cataloging, the Specialist participates in the development, evaluation, and documentation of policies, procedures, and workflows related to the cataloging of Japanese language materials in collaboration with RDS members and other library units.
