Description
We are seeking a General Counsel to internalize the existing legal processes that support the firm. This role is critical for structuring international entities, ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, and providing strategic counsel that enables the firm to capture opportunities while managing risk effectively. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building in-house legal infrastructure in a hedge fund or trading firm, is well-versed in Singapore and/or Taiwan law, and brings a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset to legal strategy. You will work closely with U.S.-based external counsel on key legal matters and initiatives. Responsibilities Structure and maintain the firm’s international entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, in conjunction with external counsel. Oversee regulatory compliance obligations, including licensing, filings, reporting, and cross-border operational requirements. Draft and review contracts, including NDAs, employment agreements, vendor agreements, and other legal documents. Support the firm’s profit-share and equity-related legal programs, including plan documentation and regulatory considerations. Lead legal work related to financing instruments, including SAFEs and other investment frameworks. Work with external counsel on jurisdiction-specific or specialized legal matters. 8+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or a combination of both, ideally in a hedge fund or trading firm. Demonstrable track record in negotiating commercial contracts, including trading partnerships, investment frameworks (e.g., SAFEs, tokenized instruments), and vendor agreements. Expert-level knowledge of the legal and regulatory considerations relevant to digital asset custody, on-chain transactions, and multi-jurisdictional compliance for trading and investment operations. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Desired Attributes Detail-oriented and precise, with strong accuracy, discretion, and professionalism in handling legal and confidential information. Business-minded and pragmatic, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives to enable growth. Trusted advisor to leadership, exercising sound judgment on high-stakes matters with discretion and strategic insight. Independent and entrepreneurial, comfortable building legal infrastructure from scratch with minimal oversight. Adaptable to fast-changing environments and competing priorities. Interview Process CV Screening – We will review your application based on the qualifications and experience outlined above. HR Interview – If further clarification is needed, a brief call may be scheduled to better understand your background. CFO Interview – To understand your experience, overall skill set, and cultural fit. Technical Interview – Conducted by our external counsel to assess your technical skills and provide a deep-dive into your legal experience. Co-Founder Interview – A concluding discussion to evaluate cultural fit, strategic alignment, and how you resonate with the firm’s values. Company Values Throughout the process, you'll be assessed for cultural fit through our company values: Drive – We believe the best team members are deeply passionate about what they do. That passion fuels their growth, drives them to seek out the best teams, and leads them to hold high expectations of themselves in pursuit of excellence. Ownership – We aim to extend ownership as broadly as possible across the firm. In return, we value people who take initiative, step up when needed, and treat the company’s goals as their own. Judgment – We value those who see the big picture and focus on what truly drives impact and results. They use time wisely, adapt across domains, and always prioritize outcomes over comfort zones. Openness – We foster a culture of open communication, mutual challenge, and shared growth. We believe constructive debate and proactive knowledge sharing lead us closer to the truth—and better decisions. Competence – We work with people who bring exceptional intellectual strength. What sets them apart isn’t just what they know—it’s how they use what they know to navigate change, adapt quickly, and contribute meaningfully in fast-changing environments. Resilience – We perform under pressure. Markets move fast, and so do we—but we stay grounded, focused, and calm. We embrace uncertainty, learn from setbacks, and adapt quickly without losing sight of long-term goals.
