INTRODUCTION:
We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and energetic Supervisor to lead from the front and manage our general duties (events set up) team!
You will be responsible for overseeing the physical setups and pack downs of all event spaces within the centre ensuring that every space is prepared to perfection for our clients and guests.
This role is very hands on and involves the movement and transfer of stages, tables and chairs between event spaces. Become an integral part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering extraordinary experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
Supervising the day-to-day operations of our General Duties Team.
Ensure that all room sets and break downs are completed in a timely manner as assigned by the General Duties Manager.
Ensure all equipment is moved with the utmost care adhering to strict manual handling guidelines.
Assist in the coordination of learning and development within the department, including delivering training where necessary.
Ensure all team members adhere to GCCEC policies, procedures, and Work Health and Safety (WHS).
Liaise and communicate with both our Internal teams and our visiting clients.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE:
Previous experience in a similar role within a convention centre or hotel environment is very highly regarded.
Proven ability to continuously lead, motivate, and positively influence a team.
Excellent knowledge of room set-up styles and event space management, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office.
Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven track record of delivering excellent guest service in a high-pressure, high-performance environment.
Flexibility to work late nights, overnights, early mornings, and weekends is essential.
Strong initiative with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
