JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman to join our hotel team. The Handyman will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks to ensure the property remains safe, functional, and welcoming for our guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or in a related trade.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, and work in varied conditions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts if required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Certification in a skilled trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas.
  • Carry out minor repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, furniture, and appliances.
  • Handle painting, patching, carpentry, and other general repair tasks.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and workspaces are kept clean and in safe working order.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and repair costs.
  • Monitor and report any major issues requiring specialized contractors.
  • Support housekeeping and other departments with repairs or special projects as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
