Description
Purpose:   This position is responsible for preparing and handling food products, including poultry, lamb, and beef, for distribution to all Osmow’s locations. This includes labeling, packaging, transferring, and receiving products while following food quality standards, GMPs, and health and safety regulations. The role involves deboning chicken manually, inspecting processed products, maintaining activity logs, and performing ad hoc production tasks. Additionally, the position requires performing sanitation tasks as needed to maintain a clean and safe workplace. Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):  • Food Preparation and Handling o Prepare food products, including poultry, lamb, and beef, for distribution to all Osmow’s locations. o Debone chicken manually and ensure processed products are free from bones, skin, or foreign materials. o Follow FIFO (First In First Out) for all “In Process” chicken quantities. • Labeling and Packaging o Match each product to the correct label (supplier, date of slaughter, etc.). o Label, package, and handle product selection according to company standards.   • Product Transfer and Inventory o Transfer and receive products between production areas. o Assemble products into boxes, stack on pallets, and wrap as needed. • Compliance and Quality Assurance o Maintain food quality and adhere to GMPs, Health and Safety Regulations. o Complete activity logs with accurate data. o Inspect outputs from deboning machines and other production processes • Sanitation and Safety o Perform sanitation tasks as required to maintain a clean and safe workplace. o Follow all health and safety protocols during production activities. • Closing and Ad Hoc Duties o Perform appropriate closing duties, including clearing the line of remaining products, bins, and skids. o Assist with ad hoc tasks related to production as needed. Qualifications and Skills Required: • Minimum High School (Grade 12) Diploma. • Work in raw meat processing industry is an asset. • Previous meat cutting experience is preferred. • GMP and/or Food Handling training is an asset. • Knowledge of HACCP’s principles preferred. • Ability to use a knife safely and other tools effectively • Intermediate skill required for Word and Excel. • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities  • Ability to carry 50Ibs. and work in cold condition. • "Can do" attitude with a willingness to learn.  • Outstanding attention to detail  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and decision-making skills Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: • Working in an environment with strong smell of raw poultry and meat • Working in various cold temperatures (approximately 6 Degrees) • Fast-paced environment • Performing repetitive tasks • Physical Effort: This is a physically demanding position and will require continuous standing for extended periods of time, as well as some heavy lifting.  • Knife work involves regular repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders.
