JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and enthusiastic General Kitchen Assistant to join our team at the Cafe @ Braintree Community Hospital.
You will be assisting the Catering Manager with all aspects of food preparation in the kitchen to cover ward patient meals as well as supporting counter and table service in the cafe during busy periods.
On Saturday’s, you will be responsible for the ward patient meals only (the cafe will be closed).
Exceptional customer service and a can do attitude a must.
If you have barista experience, this would be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen/catering/hospitality.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices is advantageous.
  • Basic maths skills are required for processing transactions accurately using square online till payment facility including card payments.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanour with a passion for helping others.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team and be prepared to work in all areas including but not limited to: food preparation, serving customers, clearing and cleaning tables and kitchen items, taking in deliveries, supporting the ordering process etc. Please be aware the role is physically demanding.
