Description · Qualified and performs according to specified procedures and techniques · Ability to interpret drawings and other documents · Working knowledge of fixtures and setup parameters · Verify that the equipment to be used for the work is appropriate for the use with the procedure and has the capability to meet the applicable requirements · Inspects and certifies work performed to specified standards and completes necessary documentation · Use of conventional and precision measuring devices · Operate hoist and crane in a safe and knowledgeable manner · Set up and operate grinding machine and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal workpieces · Perform receiving inspection of materials and components, assuring compliance with codes, specifications, and industry standards · Perform inspection of in-process fabrication and completed work utilizing inspection and test plans · Monitor existing processes and track nonconformities to develop preventive and corrective measures · Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task · Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency · Performs additional duties as assigned Requirements · High school diploma or general education degree (GED) · Prefer minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an occupational function · Able to read and interpret drawings, routings, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand-held measuring devices · Good, punctual attendance · Physical requirements – person must be able stand for the entire shift (up to 10 hours). · Use heavy grinders at waist level for long periods of time. · Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 250 pounds while being assisted by hoists, slings, forklift or other human or mechanical assistance. · Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired. · Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects. · Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. · Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. · Repetitively bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. · Bend or twist their body. · Be capable of reacting quickly to any emergency safety alerts.
