JOB DESCRIPTION Formally known as Williams Sausage Company; Newly named Hickman Rd Plant Plant address: 5132 Old Troy Hickman Road, Union City TN POSITION SUMMARY: Food Production - General Labor PR01 - Processing Packer – Full-Time Starting pay: $16.95/HR Packers perform the final packaging of sausage chubs and slicks. During packaging, packers visually inspect product for defects and remove defective products from the line. Finished packaged product is palletized per specification. RESPONSIBILITIES: Knowledge of product codes and descriptions including case pack configurations. Visually inspect packages for defects in size or quality and removing defective product from the line. Keep work area clean and tidy during production. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs). Other duties as assigned. Act as key trainer for on-the-job training to new team members. Maintain and promote team member interest in safety. Help supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including informing supervisors of unsafe practices observed. Promoting company culture of respect for all team members at all times and notifying the plant manager when observing conduct that violates this culture or company policies. Manual dexterity required for performing job. FOR ALL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be willing and able to pack off finished cases on to pallets in proper tie and high configuration. At end of shift, must be willing and able to perform machine wipe down and cover motors with protective plastic. WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting materials and product up to 50 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: steel-toed work boots, freezer coats, and freezer gloves. Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT: Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include: steel-toed work boots, ear plugs, hair net, hard hat, beard net (if applicable), and smock.
