Description Key Duties/Responsibilities This block handler is responsible for moving 60-pound blocks of frozen meat to the microwave belt for tempering and then removing the cases and taking the box and liner off prior to moving to grinding. Move cases form the pallet to the microwave infeed belt following safe lifting guidelines After the cases exit the microwave, they will be palletized or prepared for grinding For immediate use, the Handler will remove the case and liner and push the block into position to feed grinder Conduct a safety inspection on pallet jack prior to use according to guidelines Transport products and trash to and from various locations within the production floor Pick up and clean meat off from the floor Manage pallets and other supplies in specified areas Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area Performs other related duties as requested; This position will rotate general laborer positions including stacker, scaler, and block handler, for breaks and lunches or as directed. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities Basic math, language, and reading skills Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly Physical Requirements Ability to maintain a single task focus and situational awareness Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping Must be able to move and lift up to 80-pounds.
