A Laborer, or General Laborer, is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks, often under the supervision of a Project Manager or foreman at a construction site.
Job Summary The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project. The list of duties and responsibilities for a laborer on any given day may include the following but not limited too:
Essential Functions:
*Prep finished surfaces, Ex. tubs need to be protected, floors need to be covered, basements prep, wrap windows and doors.
*Clean all areas of trash and debris
*Scrape and vacuum all drywall dust and mud from the area
*Check to make sure that the job site has heat, water, electricity and access to the jobsite. Is there a driveway?
*Set up and tear down scaffolding
*Operate machinery with appropriate licenses
*Remove all debris for the area and place it in the appropriate receptacles
*Broom sweep all edge,/corners, and floors to the center and remove all dust and debris.
*Vacuum all electrical boxes, ledges, and perimeters
*Make sure that all material is correctly stored
Skills:
*Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
*Attentive to detail and alert at all times
*Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
*Physically fit with no health issues that would interfere with the physical demands of the job.
Job Requirements:
*Must be at least 18 years old
*Valid Drivers license
*Able to lift 25lbs. Unassisted
*Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
*Strong communication skills to work with your supervisor
