Position Summary
The general labourer assists the lawn care team with a variety of manual tasks to ensure high-quality lawn maintenance. Responsibilities include mowing lawns, edging, trimming, debris removal and assisting with equipment maintenance. Focused on safety and client satisfaction, the general labourer helps uphold the reputation and standards of the company.
Key Responsibilities
· Lawn Maintenance: Perform mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and raking of lawns and garden beds according to company standards.
· Weed and Pest Control: Apply weed control treatments and assist in the application of pest control products.
· Clean-Up: Remove leaves, branches, grass clippings, and other debris from job sites to leave properties spotless.
· Equipment Use and Maintenance: Operate tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers safely. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment after use.
· Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
· Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other crew members and take direction from supervisors to ensure timely completion of work.
· Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, respond to questions courteously, and address any concerns or requests as needed.
· Seasonal Tasks: Participate in seasonal work such as spring/fall clean-ups, snow removal, holiday décor installation, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a physically demanding outdoor role is an asset but not required
· Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly
· Comfortable working outdoors in a range of weather conditions (heat, snow, cold, etc.)
· Clean class 5 drivers licence (drivers abstract will be required)
· Strong work ethic, punctuality, and positive attitude
· Willingness to learn and follow instructions
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good communication skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
· Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of equipment and materials
· Exposure to outdoor elements including sun, rain, wind, and pollen
· Use of hand tools and power equipment

Work Schedule
· Full-time positions available
· Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with occasional weekend shifts during busy periods
