Description We are seeking a motivated and reliable General Laborer to join our team for the summer! This position is perfect for students on summer break who want to gain hands-on work experience and learn new skills. As a General Laborer, you’ll assist with basic facility maintenance, organizing, and general clean-up tasks to help keep our work environment safe and efficient. RESPONSIBLITIES Remove good parts from placers for reuse or further processing Load bad placer parts into the dumpster for disposal Pull weeds from garden beds and landscaped areas Organize tools, parts, and supplies in the facility Clean walls to maintain cleanliness and safety standards Clean and tidy work cells to improve workflow and efficiency Follow all safety rules and use provided protective equipment properly Support other facility maintenance and labor needs as assigned Requirements Must be at least 16 years old and currently enrolled in or recently completed high school Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in varying weather Willingness to learn new tasks, follow instructions, and work as part of a team Must be dependable and arrive on time each day Positive attitude and good work ethic ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES Safety Orientation Collaboration Attention to Detail Initiative Teamwork Time Management Problem Solving Dependability PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS Physical movement that includes continuous standing, walking, twisting/turning, repetitive hand motions/twisting, and forearm rotation. Frequent stooping/bending, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulders. Occasional climbing/balancing and sitting. Intermittent sitting or squatting. Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs frequently. Some lifting above the shoulders. Hand movement, specifically simple and gross grasping. Some fine manipulation Vision: specifically, the ability to see both closely and at a distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Mathematical skills including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, units of measurement in metric and standard, metric conversions and tolerances. Reading comprehension including prints, job orders, and work instructions. Clear verbal communication including the ability to talk and listen. Typing on a keyboard and ability to manipulate a mouse. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, steel toed boots with metatarsals, hearing protection, and face shield. WORKING ENVIRONMENT Production environment with some exposure to heat and cold temperatures. Outdoor exposure as needed. Exposure to plant noise, fumes, grinding and cutting sparks, and cleaning solvents. Work is performed in a cellular environment requiring adherence to identified productivity and efficiency rates while operating multiple “machines” or centers in the cell. Will regularly access a computer to clock job transactions and record quality documentation.
