Description The General Laborer/Summer Help - SOMAR assists in the set up and operation of sandblasting and painting equipment, and performs cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed . 1. Set up sandblasting and painting equipment as directed. 2. Assist in sandblasting and painting operations as directed. 3. Safely perform confined space cleaning operations on vessels as directed (requires entering deck hatches on vessels, descending and ascending ladders, working on uneven or slippery surfaces, working at times in small spaces, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment including respirators). 4. Perform general cleanup and maintenance duties as directed. 5. Pass a qualitative respirator fit test for half-face air purifying respirator. 6. Maintain area(s) of responsibility in a safe, clean, and orderly manner. 7. Conduct all operations in compliance with approved company safety policies & procedures and state & federal safety regulations. 8. Report to work per weekly schedule (including assigned overtime), and notify supervisor when absent or when absence is planned or expected. 9. Other duties as assigned. Requirements The incumbent shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent or as approved by the President.
