We are looking for safety conscious individuals to join our team as Rebar Cage Fabricators. Working in the Cage shop, Rebar Fabricators tack weld, operate cage forming machine, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer’s orders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
• Operate a Cage Forming machine to weld reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a Mig welder to tack weld reinforcing steel to rebar cages.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Operate Oxy/Acetylene cutting torch that cuts reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management.

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must have basic math skills to be able to calculate bar measurements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding experience not required, however willingness to learn is a must.

Physical Requirements

• Some heavy lifting may be required (no greater than 50 lbs)
• Working conditions can be noisy/dusty/hot/cold

• Overtime hours may be required to meet operational demands.
• Must be able to work day and/or night shift.
