GENERAL LABOURER

Location: Nanaimo, British Columbia
Company: K’awat’si Construction Company (KCC)
K’awat’si Construction is looking for a reliable and motivated General Labourer to join our growing team in Nanaimo, BC. As part of KCC, you’ll support the successful delivery of some of our largest and most exciting construction projects.
We’re seeking someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute to a safe and efficient job site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks from supervisors
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a productive manner
  • Possession of a valid BC driver’s license and reliable transportation to various job sites in the Nanaimo area
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude, contributing to a safe and respectful work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities
  • Wears the provided clean company uniform and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including green patch steel-toed boots.
  • Follows and understands the policies and procedures outlined in the company handbook.
  • Informs the Supervisor of any personal injuries or property damage.
  • Maintains professionalism on job sites and demonstrates a positive attitude and work ethic, with a strong emphasis on health and safety.
  • Performs daily housekeeping to ensure the site remains free of debris at all times.
  • Reports all hazards and near-miss incidents.
  • Reports and investigates all injuries or incidents to the Office Manager and all other relevant parties in the absence of the Foreman.
  • Follow directions from, and assist the Site Foreman with layout, site coordination, and installations.
  • Regularly monitors materials on site.
  • Maintains constant communication with the Site Supervisor and immediately reports any deficiencies such as mistakes, errors, contamination, or property/equipment damage.
  • Participates in weekly Toolbox Meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Keeps the trailer and tools well-maintained and conducts a weekly inventory.
