We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our team in Barcelona or Berlin, primarily responsible for the Mexican entity and contributing to the accounting of other Americas entities as needed. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in accounting, including 3 years of hands-on experience with Mexican GAAP. This role will support the general ledger accounting process and ensure compliance with local GAAP standards, reporting directly to the GL Team Lead. Job Description Handle general ledger (GL) accounting for assigned entities within the Americas region. Ensure financial statements comply with Mexican GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS; knowledge of US GAAP is a plus. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in line with company deadlines. Prepare and schedule payments via ACH or wire transfer. Oversee the Logistics Coordinator, providing guidance and support. Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support external audits. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and tax advisors to maintain accurate financial records. Support tax filings, compliance, and other statutory reporting requirements for Mexico and additional jurisdictions as assigned. Identify and implement process improvements and automation in financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions. Work closely with the Americas and European GL Teams to ensure consistency and efficiency in accounting practices. Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years working with Mexican GAAP. Experience with accounting systems; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is preferred. Strong knowledge of Mexican GAAP; experience with IFRS and US GAAP is a plus. Experience supporting tax filings or statutory audits in Mexico is an advantage. Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
