Delivering measurable results Job Description Sutherland is looking for a skilled General Ledger Accountant to join one of our growing retail programs working out of our client site in Chesapeake, VA. A General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that all financial data from stores, inventory systems, POS systems, AP/AR, and payroll flows accurately into the general ledger, enabling correct financial reporting. Responsibilities: Monthly & Daily General Ledger Maintenance Inventory Accounting & COGS Adjustments Bank & Cash Reconciliation AP & AR Subledger Reconciliation Fixed Assets Accounting Accruals & Prepayments Financial Closing & Reporting Internal Controls & Compliance Qualifications Our most successful candidates will have: 5-8+ years of experience as a General Ledger Accountant Lawson ERP knowledge/experience Accounting experience supporting the retail industry will be a major plus A customer-oriented attitude, handling first level of communications and issues Capacity to efficiently manage time and keep track of multiple schedules, Excellent verbal and written communication skills Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
