SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled General Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision power transmission products. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, technical drawings, and quality control standards to ensure all products meet specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a machinist apprenticeship or technical training program preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a machine shop environment.
  • Basic computer skills for operating CNC controls and recording data.
  • Fluent in English; written and verbal.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses to fabricate metal parts.
  • Interpret technical blueprints and specifications to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
  • Measure and inspect completed parts using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Select appropriate tools, materials, and cutting speeds based on the job requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production team members to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Document production activities and report any deviations or defects to supervisors.
