UPMC Hamot is looking for a General Maintenance 2 – Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to help ensure a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Title: General Maintenance 2 – Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician Shift: Typically Day Shift Schedule: Includes rotating weekends Flexibility: Potential off-shifts as required to meet department needs This is a hands-on, multi-craft role ideal for a versatile technician with experience across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate level of the career ladder based on education and experience. Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipmentExhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry/hardware, mechanical equipment and facilities systems.Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Maintain all written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities, i.e., med gas, equipment room rounds, etc. Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems. Operate and maintain a variety of building's direct digital control (DDC) systems. Order materials as needed. Perform all work following infection control procedures. Perform minor carpentry and painting work. Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Minor repairs and maintaining of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, plumbing leaks (soldering), defective pipes and clogged drains. Performs general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas.Performs required maintenance, repair and inspection of beds.Ability to perform snow removal activities and work in adverse weather conditions.*Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. *Performs other duties as assigned. Completion of a high school diploma/GED is required. A total of 2 years of general maintenance-related work experience is required. Healthcare experience is preferred. Completion of a High School Vocational program or Trade School is preferred. Military experience considered.
