Job Description Position Purpose: Provide operational and maintenance support throughout complex. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Must be proficient and able to instruct in all areas listed below. Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Performs routine maintenance on building systems. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the general maintenance of commercial buildings. Some experience with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC would be an advantage. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers. Knowledge of general carpentry and repair. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must have high mechanical aptitude level. Ability to work rotating shifts involving weekends, holidays, backshifts, and overtime is required. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Must hold a valid driver license with a satisfactory driving record to maintain minimum company required insurance coverage Physical Requirements: The job can be physically demanding involving movement of heavy equipment and carrying materials up and down stairs. Candidates should be able to lift a 50-lb load. Must be able to walk a minimum of three miles per day. Must have ability to work from elevated surfaces; (ladders, platforms, lifts).
