  • General Maintenance OperativeJob Opportunity: General Maintenance Operative (Level 2)Location: Reading, RG26UHType: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £35,000 - £40,000Driving License RequiredWe are seeking a skilled and reliable General Maintenance Operative to join our facilities maintenance team. This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of planned and reactive building fabric maintenance, including statutory, legislative, and minor new works, on a client site.Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out building fabric maintenance tasks and diagnose faults
  • Complete like-for-like asset replacement and minor installation works
  • Conduct risk assessments and work in accordance with safety procedures
  • Maintain compliance with relevant building regulations and standards
  • Provide support during emergency call-outs and out-of-hours response
  • Liaise with clients, team members, and specialist contractors
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, time spent, and materials usedRequired Skills and Experience:
  • Completed apprenticeship in a relevant building services discipline
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a related trade (plumbing or electrical preferred)
  • Experience in a technical maintenance environment
  • Ability to self-manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Systems
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills
