Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Maintenance worker to join our team. As a General Maintenance worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This is a hands-on position that requires strong mechanical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work independently.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing systems, electrical systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and clients
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, and control devices
- Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulation - Legionella testing of water - Painting and Decorating bedrooms and communal areas when required - Checking temperatures of boilers in both our homes ensuring TMV valves are working correctly. - Fire alarm testing weekly in both homes
Requirements:
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and clients
- Solid mechanical knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of others
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and electrical components
