Join our team and assist in the daily maintenance and upkeep of multiple high-traffic kiosks located throughout the National Mall. In this dynamic, hands-on role, you’ll ensure that each kiosk remains safe, functional, and visually appealing for the millions of visitors who pass through each year. We’re looking for a proactive problem-solver, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work across several sites in a fast-paced, iconic environment. Responsibilities: * Receive and complete work orders, in a timely and efficient manner, as required by Maintenance Department policies and procedures. Must assist in the completion, tracking and reporting of work orders * Duties may include general painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, landscaping maintenance, etc. * Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment as requested * Capable of “hands on repairs” in most maintenance disciplines * Comply with all safety policies and procedures including when lifting, climbing, etc. * Be available to assist other team members with maintenance related tasks * Polite, knowledgeable and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries Position Requirements: * Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair * Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations * Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions * Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs and understand the OSHA safety requirements as applicable * Ability to work as part of a team * Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts * Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally * Must have a valid driver’s license to operate vehicles throughout property Education and Experience: * Education: High school Diploma or equivalent * Technical certification/degree preferred * Experience: 1 year of general maintenance and/or construction * National Park experience preferred Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status and all other status protected by law.
