Located in the heart of downtown Fredericton, the Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook is a landmark hotel known for its rich history, elegant atmosphere, and exceptional guest service. We are currently seeking a dependable and proactive General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and preventative maintenance tasks. QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or at least 2-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience, ideally in hospitality or a similar environment
  • Working knowledge of WH&S standards, lockout/tagout protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with guests, vendors, and colleagues professionally.
  • Capable of lifting, bending, climbing, operating tools/equipment, and navigating varied indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and conduct preventative maintenance across hotel systems—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and low-voltage systems (e.g., air-conditioning, refrigeration, FLS, kitchen/laundry equipment)
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance work orders for appliances, fixtures, structural issues, and cosmetic concerns.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions; implement repairs efficiently to minimize guest disruption.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance activities, asset inventory, and repairs via maintenance management systems or daily reports.
  • Collaborate with vendors or contractors when external support is necessary, ensuring compliance with service agreements.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies, including fire and life safety procedures, hazardous materials handling, and energy conservation practices.
  • Participate in team briefings, training, and emergency response procedures, support department initiatives like recycling programs, waste management, and social responsibility projects.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the hotel’s image; attend to uniform standards, hygiene, and punctuality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Engineering or Management staff.
