Project Dewatering Ltd are recruiting! We are a dewatering contractor providing dewatering solutions and groundwater treatment on construction sites across the UK.
We require a General Maintenance Technician to be based at our office & workshop in Great Bricett, near Needham Market but travel across the UK to our project sites for mobile servicing/plant repairs.
Experience is not necessarily required, however a basic understanding of simple diesel engines and hand tools is essential. A driving licence is also required.
Perhaps you come from a background of completing maintenance on diesel engines in a garage, or have completed a relevant college course. It may be that you do not have relevant work experience, but your hobby is basic mechanics.
The role broadly consists of:
· Plant (pump) servicing and maintenance at the yard
· Plant (pump) servicing on our project sites across the UK
· Assisting the Workshop Controller with general yard operations
Here at PDL the General Maintenance Technician works under the Workshop Controller, carrying out routine maintenance to pumps and equipment which include servicing diesel engines, repairing pump components and other general maintenance tasks.
You will be expected to visit our various project sites for both routine and emergency call out visits to carry out and servicing required. This may be part of the scheduled servicing or emergency call outs. This means you need to be able to plan your workload, but be responsive and flexible to deal with any issues that crop up.
The successful candidate will be trained on our specific equipment, so a willingness to learn is important.
This position would suit someone who is hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn our industry on the job. There will be opportunity to progress within the company for the right person. We encourage career progression at PDL, so would love to hear from people with different levels of experience.
This role will also require attendance on our project sites throughout the UK carrying out servicing/maintenance on our dewatering equipment. This would involve travel each week depending on the workload.
The applicant must be able to speak, read and write competently in English.
Full time (42.5 hours per week Monday – Friday). A driving licence will be required due to office location plus the need to visit our project sites across the UK. Please note: any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory check of your driving licence to ensure our insurances are happy to provide cover.
