Our client is a key player in the agricultural production sector. They are looking to hire an experienced General Manager – Integrated Agro-Processing Operations (Plantain Flour) in Ogun State. Job Summary Lead and deliver full operational performance of an integrated farm-to-factory system producing plantain flour at industrial scale. Ensure uninterrupted raw material supply, consistent production output, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and export standards. Expected Outcomes (First 6–9 Months): • Achieve 100–200 MT/month stable production • Zero production stoppage due to raw material shortages • Maintain minimum 14-day forward raw material visibility • Keep total downtime below 5% • Deliver continuous reduction in cost per kg • Ensure readiness for regulatory and export certifications Core Responsibilities Supply Chain Management • Oversee sourcing from farms, contract suppliers, and spot procurement • Maintain rolling raw material visibility of at least 14 days • Build multiple supply sources to avoid dependency • Prevent reactive procurement practices Production Management • Deliver consistent daily and monthly production targets • Maintain a minimum of 26 operating days per month • Ensure stable and predictable production output • Minimize variability in yield and disruptions Cost Control • Take ownership of cost per kg (fully loaded) • Eliminate inefficiencies across procurement, labor, and processing • Continuously improve unit economics • Ensure all spending drives measurable output Maintenance and Downtime Control • Maintain downtime below 5% • Ensure fast diagnosis and resolution of breakdowns • Implement preventive maintenance systems • Eliminate recurring technical failures Compliance and Certification • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards • Drive certification processes (NAFDAC, ISO, export standards) • Maintain audit readiness across operations Operations Leadership • Lead daily coordination across production, maintenance, and procurement • Conduct weekly performance reviews • Drive accountability across teams • Address underperformance promptly People Management • Recruit, structure, and manage operational workforce • Align compensation with performance outcomes • Build a strong execution-driven culture Authority • Procurement and supplier decisions • Supplier onboarding and removal • Production scheduling • Staffing decisions • Emergency purchasing approvals Requirements • 10–15+ years’ experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or agro-processing • Proven experience managing production operations directly • Experience in integrated farm-to-factory systems is an advantage • Strong financial and cost management skills (unit economics) • Ability to work on-site in high-pressure environments
