General Manager, Backspin Fredericton Pickleball

Are you a creative, entrepreneurial individual looking to make a real impact in the Fredericton pickleball community? Backspin Pickleball is looking for a General Manager responsible for all aspects of operating a 6-court indoor pickleball facility.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility opportunity where you’ll work directly with the owner to design, develop, and execute marketing, scheduling, and operational strategies for Backspin. You’ll have the chance to wear many hats—from social media content creation to tournament planning, community engagement to facilities maintenance, all aspects of operational performance will be your responsibility.
Facility Operations
- Daily Operations - manage the day-to-day operations of the pickleball facility, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning, including general facility maintenance.
- Cleanliness/Maintenance - maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for all.
- Equipment - ensure all courts/equipment are maintained and in good working order.
- Inventory Management - manage inventory of pro shop items, including tracking, ordering, and ensuring accurate records.
- Safety – implement/monitor safety protocols and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Programming and Events
- Scheduling- manage court scheduling, including open play, leagues and ladders, tournaments, and other events.
- Program Development - develop and implement pickleball programs, including beginner classes, leagues, and tournaments.
- Event Coordination - oversee staffing and logistics for tournaments and events.
- Community Engagement - engage with the local pickleball community both in person and online.
- Promotions – participate in marketing/promotional efforts to attract new players/members.
- Customer Service - ensure members/guests have a positive experience and address any concerns.
Staff Management
- Supervision – supervise, hire, and train staff, including front desk personnel
- Performance Management - provide constructive feedback and support to staff.
Financial and Administrative
- Budget Management - assist with budgeting and financial management of the facility.
- Membership Administration - manage membership administration and related tasks.
- Reporting - track and compile performance data for management.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Pickleball Knowledge: A strong understanding of pickleball rules, playing techniques, and the pickleball community.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Marketing and Promotion: Experience in marketing and promoting events and programs.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer software and systems.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
