POSITION OVERVIEW

The General Manager (GM) of the Black Rock Mountain Resort Event Center will lead the launch and ongoing operations of a premier multi-use venue in Park City, Utah. This newly constructed event center will host a diverse range of events including hockey, basketball, concerts, rodeos, and corporate functions. The GM will be responsible for building the operational foundation, driving revenue, and ensuring the venue becomes a vibrant and profitable destination.
This role demands a visionary leader with proven experience in event center startups, sports and entertainment operations, and financial strategy. The GM will be the driving force behind filling the calendar, negotiating contracts, and maximizing profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of experience in venue or event center management, with at least 3 years in a GM or senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in launching or revitalizing an event center or arena.
  • Deep understanding of sports operations (hockey, basketball) and entertainment programming (concerts, rodeos, etc.)
  • Strong negotiating skills and a track record of securing high-value events.
  • Financial acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and profitability strategies.
  • Experience working with union labor and managing large contract workforces.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
