JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the the Chair and Board of Directors of Community Futures Northwest Alberta, the General Manager will:
1. Act as the Chief Executive Officer and Administrator to manage, facilitate and proactively promote the Community Futures program in Community Futures Northwest Alberta Region, and to effectively perform those duties required to assist the CFNWA in pursuing its goals and meeting its established objectives.
2. Community Development - Aggressively pursues and proactively manages community economic development initiatives and opportunities for the betterment of the region.
3. Business Development - Oversee and ensure the productive and timely administration of the Business Development function of the Corporation for the benefit of existing and prospective clients and employment generation for the Mackenzie region.
4. Administration and Operations - Development and implementation of annual operational plans for the corporation and supply effective and efficient management of the day to day operations and staffing of the corporation.
5. Policy and Planning - Develop and offer for the Board’s consideration, policy initiatives and their implementation as appropriate, including review and evaluation. Establishment and maintenance of a solid support function for the Board.
6. Communications & Marketing - Aggressively pursues and effectively promotes the corporation’s communications and marketing initiatives. In addition, to be proactively aggressive in the development and maintenance of constructive community partnerships to further the aims of the corporation.
DUTIES: include the following, and other duties as required or assigned.
· Facilitate implementation of board, regional, and community plans for community and economic development, in accordance with the goals and objectives established by CFNWA
· Provide assistance to communities, organizations, etc., in planning for both specific projects and long-term development
· Provide assistance to communities, organizations, etc., in pursuing specific projects, including assisting them to access federal and provincial programs as required
· Oversee all functions of CFNWA, including ensuring that all business development and other services are provided in the manner most effective for the client
· Ensure that projects and staff assignments are designed and carried out in a manner which furthers the organization’s goals, as established by the Board of Directors.
· Keep board informed of project progress at each meeting.
· Keep current with, and keep the Board informed of, economic and community development trends within the region, the province, and the country
· Establish and maintain active contacts within communities
· Promote CFNWA (and all its roles, goals and functions) throughout the region

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
