Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our General Manager Construction, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of accessible housing developments, managing strategy, planning, construction, and compliance. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the organisation’s construction expert, providing trusted advice to the CEO and Board, driving operational excellence, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the strategic planning, design, and execution of inclusive housing projects from concept to completion.
  • Integrate Livable Housing Design Guidelines, Universal Design principles, and sustainability standards into every phase.
  • Oversee all construction operations, budgets, and P&L responsibilities across multiple sites.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Building Standards, WHS regulations, and accessibility legislation.
  • Drive innovation through modern technologies, including modular construction, prefabrication, and digital project management tools (e.g. BIM).
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing construction teams and contractor networks.
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, regulators, funding bodies, and community advocates.
  • Provide regular project reports and strategic insights to the CEO and Board.
