The role will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams and act as the key commercial interface with clients, consultants, and contractors. Key Responsibilities 1. Contract Administration & Compliance Manage and administer EPC, EPCM, PMC, Design & Build, and item‑rate contracts from award to final close‑out. Ensure compliance with contractual terms, scope, schedules, payment milestones, and statutory obligations. Maintain contract registers, correspondence logs, variation trackers, and claims records. Interpret contract clauses and provide timely commercial guidance to project teams. 2. Variations, Claims & EOT Management Lead preparation, review, and negotiation of variation orders (VOs), change requests, claims, and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions. Assess time and cost impact of changes and delays. Support recovery of contractual entitlements from clients and defensible management of subcontractor claims. Proactively identify potential commercial risks and take early action to avoid disputes. 3. Commercial & Contractual Risk Management Identify and manage commercial, contractual, and financial risks during execution. Support pre‑award contract reviews, risk assessments, and commercial clarifications. Ensure proper risk allocation and contractual flow‑down to subcontractors and vendors. Advise project leadership on risk mitigation strategies and commercial decisions. 4. Subcontract & Vendor Contract Management Assist procurement and legal teams in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating subcontract agreements, LOIs, and purchase orders. Ensure subcontract terms align with main contract obligations, especially with respect to: Scope and specifications Payment terms LDs, warranties, and indemnities Insurance and statutory compliance Manage subcontractor variations, claims, and final accounts. 5. Cost Control & Financial Coordination Collaborate with project controls, QS, and finance teams to track budgets, forecasts, and commercial performance. Review and certify client invoices, RA bills, and payment certificates. Support cash‑flow planning and margin protection initiatives. Provide inputs for monthly commercial reviews and management reports. 6. Client & Stakeholder Interface Act as the commercial and contractual focal point with clients, consultants, and major subcontractors. Participate in progress meetings, commercial negotiations, and dispute discussions. Support senior management during escalation and resolution of commercial issues. Projects Handled Infrastructure & large commercial developments Data centres & mission‑critical facilities Industrial & manufacturing plants Long‑term capex and multi‑phase programmes Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent. Post‑graduate qualification or certification in Contracts / Commercial Management or Law preferred. Experience 8–15 years of experience in construction or project management environments. Proven experience handling infrastructure projects. Strong exposure to long‑duration projects with multiple stakeholders. Hands‑on experience with claims, variations, EOTs, dispute avoidance, and final accounts. Background in PMC, EPC, EPCM, infrastructure, industrial, or data‑centre projects preferred. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of: Indian construction contracting practices FIDIC / custom EPC / CPWD‑type contracts Commercial risk management Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple contracts across parallel projects. Proficient in MS Excel, contractual documentation, and reporting tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with senior stakeholders.
