OVERVIEW:

The Courtyard by Marriott in Boone, NC, a well-established, family-owned hotel operated by Poteat Hospitality, is seeking a hands-on, community-oriented General Manager to lead our team to continued success. This is a highly strategic and operational leadership role ideal for someone who is passionate about guest service, team development, and driving hotel performance.

You’ll be empowered to lead all aspects of the property’s operation—from front desk to housekeeping, food & beverage to engineering—while also actively participating in the local community and representing the Courtyard brand with pride.

GUEST EXPERIENCE & QUALITY ASSURANCE

• Champion Marriott brand service standards, including GSS, QA, and operational audits.
• Drive guest satisfaction through coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Be highly visible on the property; proactively engage with guests and respond to feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel operations leadership (GM or AGMl).
• Marriott FOSSE system experience is required.
• Skills:
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong analytical, financial, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump in when needed.
• Additional Requirements:
• Must pass background and drug screening.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
