GENERAL MANAGER Portland, OR | Reports to: CEO | Compensation: DOE + Performance Incentives   We’re looking for a seasoned construction leader who has built a career delivering great projects and developing strong teams. WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO * Own the full operation of the Portland office, including planning, execution, and delivery of company goals and initiatives across all departments * Work closely with Division and Operations Managers on business development strategy, work acquisition, contracting, and project execution, tracking progress, mitigating risks, and resolving issues as they arise * Develop and manage office budgets, monitor costs, implement cost-saving measures, and ensure accurate financial reporting that meets company profitability targets * Review and approve office expenditures and ensure alignment with company goals * Lead and mentor department managers and staff, ensuring proper resource allocation, balancing workloads, and cultivating a culture that holds both high performance and the development of people in equal regard * Invest in your people through consistent coaching, honest feedback, and career development conversations that are personal and purposeful * Attend client functions, support business development activities, and maintain strong relationships with clients, design firms, and industry partners * Collaborate with senior leadership to define business goals, identify market opportunities, develop new business relationships, and contribute to securing new contracts * Drive continuous improvement across operational processes, champion new technologies and methods that enhance performance * Proactively manage risk across projects and operations, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements * Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration throughout the office   WHO YOU ARE * You have an expansive commercial construction career, 10+ years of progressive experience with at least 5 years in a leadership or general management role * You’ve built complex projects from the ground up and have the technical depth to back it up. You understand construction processes, project management, contracts, and regulatory compliance at a high level * You’re a strong financial manager with real experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control * You’re a leader who is genuinely invested in the people around you and the culture you help create * You invest genuinely in the growth and development of the people around you * Clients trust you.
