Description Job Summary: The General Manager is responsible for profitable growth as well as day to day operations of the BonaDent laboratory including but not limited to workflow, process and procedure development and execution. This position will lead the management team in quality control, production management, accountability, and staff development. The General Manager will strive for success through profitable sales growth for the lab while developing customer relationships and partnering effectively with the Director of Satellite Operations and the VP of Business Development. Essential Job Functions: Leadership: Act as the leader to motivate, train, coach and develop the team including taking a proactive approach to staff development to ensure that the lab is prepared for growth. Overall management of the lab including but not limited to performance evaluation, goal setting, and accountability Manage the operations, including review of incoming work, work distribution, workflow, productivity and quality control. Responsible for the organization, prioritizing, and planning of daily workload, to ensure on-time delivery. Interface with department leaders to ensure productivity and service needs are understood and met. Improve quality, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies Determine and eliminate the root causes of internal & external remakes and diminish their occurrence in the process. Implement lean processing to optimize use of space, equipment, material, and personnel. Develop solid relationships with accounts. Personally responsible for being proactive on case concerns, follow-up calls on cases, calls on remakes, product upgrades and suggestions, etc. Also responsible for calling new doctors in regard to preferences and ensuring overall satisfaction of accounts. Act as the face of the laboratory, visiting offices, meeting with doctors and giving presentations Provide regular and consistent feedback to the President & CEO Quality Control & Production Management: Quality control for all departments to ensure that fabrication has been completed to BonaDent Standards. Assist in identifying areas of production needing improvement through training and development and ensure improvement plans are seen through to timely completion Ensure that daily production requirements are met to BonaDent Dental Laboratories Standards and hold staff accountable for reaching daily and weekly productivity goals. Develop, standardize and execute processes and procedures ensuring the best practices are being followed throughout the laboratory Achieve optimum employee levels while controlling overhead and raw material costs in order to reach labor-to-sales ratios and production supply goals Coordinate procedures for smooth workflow and on-time delivery Make suggestions for product enhancements, pricing, and process improvements, and ensure execution of improvements Develop and ensure that visual standards are up to date for all technical departments Responsible for ensuring standard operating procedures are followed consistently Ensure all proper safety protocols and maintenance procedures are complied with within the department, including proper use of equipment Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required Performance Measures: Sales growth and customer retention Gross profit Employee productivity, development, and growth Internal & External remake ratios Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: · Associate degree in business management or a closely related field or equivalent experience. · 8+ years of dental lab experience · 5+ years of management experience · Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously · Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills · Ability to conduct self in a professional manner at all times
