SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be successful in the role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field combined with extensive experience from within a highly commercial environment. You will be an expert in Technical Leadership and Program Management, with a dedication for staying ahead of the latest digital trends, with specific interest in emerging technologies, innovation and industry best practices ensuring our digital solutions remain cutting-edge.
You will have proven experience in digital transformation and cloud technologies with an outcome driven, fast-paced environment. You will have a strong track record of leading large-scale digital projects and teams ensuring successful outcomes on time and within budget.
You will have expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and a deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, DevOps and software engineering best practices. You will have demonstrated experience with the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies and digital product development.
Whilst technical proficiency is important to the role, you will also need to demonstrate exceptional leadership and digital innovation skills. You will possess the attitude, soft skills, and capability to engage with a broad range of business stakeholders. Your high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail will be crucial in meeting the business demands at G’day Group. Your naturally upbeat and open style will align with our cultural values, and your ability to lead and inspire others will drive our digital transformation efforts.
As the General Manager for Digital and Cloud Technology you will lead our organisation’s digital technology business with responsibility for overseeing the architecture, solutioning, engineering and development of key digital programs of work. You will be passionate about best-in-class digital ways of working and have a strong track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects, driving innovation, and leading high-performance teams, ensuring excellence in project delivery, budget management, and team leadership.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will have significant executive exposure and interaction, and will be a member of the Executive sponsored Extended Leadership Team- the senior group of leaders responsible for leading the entire business. It’s therefore critical that you can apply a commercial lens to decision making, always ensuring critical decisions are being made in the best interest of the business.
