Edward Mann is looking for a General Manager – Finance on behalf of an renowned national organisation in the Healthcare space, that is growing at an incredible pace. Based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, this pivotal executive leadership role is responsible for the leadership and management of the finance function across all entities within the Group.


The General Manager – Finance is responsible for the leadership and management of the finance function across all entities within the Group. This role holds full ownership of the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, and provides strategic financial leadership to the other general managers and operational teams. The role leads and develops the transactional finance and accounting teams, drives robust budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, oversees the audit process, and partners closely with business leaders to improve financial literacy and drive performance across the organisation.


The role is offering $190,000 + Super (dependent on experience)— it delivers full ownership of financial integrity, reporting, and strategic direction. Having achieved 10x revenue growth over the last five years with no signs of slowing down, the company offers a high-impact environment for career advancement.


The role includes occasional Australian East Coast travel of 3–5 days roughly once every 2–3 months. The role will be in office during your initial few months, before becoming hybrid.


Core Responsibilities:


Financial Governance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Hold ultimate accountability for the financial integrity, consolidation, and accuracy of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet across all Group entities.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process across all entities, working closely with department and general managers to build robust, achievable budgets.
  • Oversee timely end-of-month financial reporting, board pack preparation, and executive performance reviews.
  • Manage end-to-end external audits, statutory compliance, tax obligations, and robust internal financial controls.

Strategic Business Partnering & Commercial Performance

  • Partner with General Managers and Department Heads to review financial results, interpret performance drivers, and identify operational efficiencies.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting processes across all business units.
  • Oversee group-wide cash flow management, liquidity, and working capital risk mitigation.
  • Build financial literacy across non-finance leadership to drive commercial performance.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the transactional finance and accounting teams to build a high-performing function. (Team of 9).
  • Set clear performance objectives, professional development plans, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Executive Leadership & Strategic Counsel

  • Act as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial counsel to inform executive and operational decision-making.


Qualifications

  • CA / CPA qualification (or equivalent) required.
  • Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally across a multi-entity or group structure.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting board-level financial reporting.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including consolidations, financial reporting standards and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Experience managing external audit processes.
