General Manager – Café Crema & Freds Italian (West Vancouver)

Reports to: Director of Operations, Freds Hospitality

Freds Hospitality is a growing hospitality group committed to delivering memorable dining experiences across British Columbia. In West Vancouver, Café Crema and Freds Italian operate side-by-side in one landmark building, offering guests two distinct concepts: a vibrant café culture experience and a modern Italian dining destination.
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee both operations, splitting time equally between the two venues. This role requires a dynamic, hands-on leader who can balance strategic oversight with daily operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for both Café Crema and Freds Italian.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
  • Maintain brand standards, guest service excellence, and operational efficiency.
  • Team Management & Culture
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff across both venues.
  • Foster a positive, performance-driven culture that emphasizes guest satisfaction and teamwork.
  • Manage scheduling, labour targets, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Financial & Business Oversight
  • Monitor and achieve sales, labour, and cost targets.
  • Work closely with operations and accounting to ensure budgets are met and reporting is accurate.
  • Drive revenue growth through innovative programming, promotions, and community engagement.
  • Guest Experience
  • Ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction across both brands.
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively.
  • Uphold the reputation of both Café Crema and Freds Italian as West Vancouver dining staples.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure all operations comply with VCH, WorkSafeBC, and liquor licensing regulations.
  • Oversee health & safety programs and training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior management role within hospitality (multi-unit or dual-concept experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong background in food & beverage operations (restaurant and/or café).
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams.
  • Solid financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
