JOB DESCRIPTION: GENERAL MANAGER ROLE PURPOSE The General Manager (GM) of Grand Turk Cruise Center is the senior on-site executive leader accountable for the integrated performance of Carnival Corporation’s Exclusive Destination in Turks and Caicos. While operating under the strategic oversight of the Port Director, this role carries enterprise-level accountability for execution, governance, and sustained operational excellence across people leadership, financial performance, safety, security, compliance, and guest experience. The GM operates within a highly matrixed global organization and is responsible for translating corporate strategy, standards, and regulatory requirements into disciplined local execution. This role requires advanced leadership judgment, institutional knowledge, and demonstrated experience operating at the intersection of port, resort, and corporate enterprise environments. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Enterprise Leadership & Matrixed Governance Serve as the senior on-site executive leader with full accountability for operational execution, financial outcomes, people leadership, safety, and compliance. Execute corporate strategies, frameworks, and policies as established by Carnival Corporation, ensuring consistent application without local deviation. Operate effectively within a highly matrixed reporting environment, partnering closely with Corporate HR, Finance, HESS, Legal, Security, IT, and Operations. Demonstrate prior experience transitioning from port or destination leadership roles into corporate-aligned operating models. Act as the primary local steward of corporate governance, ensuring regulatory, audit, and compliance expectations are met consistently. Represent the organization with government authorities, regulators, and community stakeholders. People, Culture & Leadership Accountability Provide direct leadership to all department heads and senior leaders, setting clear performance expectations aligned with corporate objectives. Own workforce strategy, including workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, engagement action planning, and retention. Ensure rigorous execution of performance management processe,s including goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, calibration, and accountability for results. Partner closely with Corporate HR to ensure all people practices align with approved frameworks, systems, and governance requirements. Global Enterprise Systems, Analytics & Data Integrity Demonstrated expertise and direct accountability for enterprise HR systems, including: Oracle HCM (Core HR, Recruiting, Performance & Goals, Compensation) UKG as the Time & Attendance solution Ensure data accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance across all workforce systems. Utilize workforce analytics and advanced reporting to manage labor costs, productivity, staffing models, and strategic decision-making. Lead organizational change management associated with enterprise HR system adoption and optimization. Operational & Financial Leadership Full P&L accountability, including development, execution, and continuous management of the annual operating plan. Drive disciplined labor and operating expense management while identifying revenue enhancement opportunities. Analyze and clearly articulate financial and operational variances, risks, and corrective actions. Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including financial modeling, workforce analytics, and executive-level reporting. Executive oversight of Food & Beverage, Retail, Shore Excursions, Cabanas, Guest Activities, and all concessionaire operations. Port Operations, Assets & Inventory Management Proven leadership experience managing resort, private island, or destination-scale operations with high guest volumes and seasonal workforce dynamics. Executive accountability for facilities, infrastructure, utilities, and asset preservation. Demonstrated expertise in inventory management and maintenance systems, including advanced use of UpKeep or equivalent enterprise platforms. Ensure preventive maintenance programs, lifecycle planning, and inventory controls meet corporate standards. HESS, Security & Risk Leadership Executive ownership of Health, Environment, Safety, and Security (HESS) outcomes. Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, audit requirements, and corporate HESS frameworks. Lead emergency preparedness, crisis response, and business continuity planning. Provide executive oversight of site security strategy, access controls, investigations, and coordination with law enforcement and maritime authorities. Foster a safety-first culture through leadership accountability. Guest Experience & Brand Standards Ensure delivery of exceptional guest experiences aligned with Carnival brand standards. Oversee quality assurance programs, guest satisfaction metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Utilize guest feedback and operational data to drive service excellence. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 10–15 years of progressive senior leadership experience managing resort, hotel, private island, or destination-scale operations. Demonstrated experience operating in highly matrixed global organizations with multiple corporate reporting lines. Prior experience transitioning from port or destination operations into corporate-aligned enterprise environments. Proven expertise in applying corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks consistently and effectively at the local level. Deep expertise in enterprise HRIS platforms, specifically Oracle HCM and UKG. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Demonstrated leadership of HESS, security, and risk management programs. Strong background in inventory management, asset management, and maintenance systems. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS English: Full professional fluency required. Spanish: Professional working proficiency required. Creole: Professional working proficiency preferred. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to work and live in an island environment. Willingness and ability to travel as required throughout the Caribbean and to the United States. Must meet all local regulatory and work permit requirements. SALARY RANGE Starting Range $80,000-$110,000.00 Placement within the salary range is dependent upon the candidate’s experience, qualifications, demonstrated capability to meet the role’s enterprise, technical, and leadership requirements, and alignment with organizational needs.
