With 423 keys, five distinctive dining venues and a grand 600-pax ballroom, the resort is purpose-built to attract premium leisure travelers, destination weddings and high-profile MICE events from across Asia-Pacific. As a flagship InterContinental resort in Borneo, this property plays a strategic role in strengthening IHG’s luxury footprint in Malaysia - offering the rare opportunity to shape the identity and commercial trajectory of a landmark beachfront destination. Your Day to Day: As General Manager, you will be the strategic and operational leader of the resort, responsible for delivering commercial performance, building a high-performing executive team and embedding InterContinental’s luxury service standards from day one. You will: Lead all aspects of hotel operations including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Human Resources. Drive revenue growth, market share and profitability across leisure, wedding and MICE segments. Establish strong positioning within key North Asia feeder markets. Oversee large-scale banquet and conference operations including a 600-pax ballroom. Build, mentor and develop a high-performing leadership team and succession pipeline. Champion guest experience excellence, driving satisfaction, reputation and loyalty metrics. Maintain strong and transparent relationships with ownership and key stakeholders. Deliver disciplined financial performance aligned to budget, GOP and long-term asset value creation. We are seeking a commercially astute luxury resort leader with proven experience managing complex, large-scale operations. Required Experience Prior General Manager experience in a luxury or upper upscale resort environment. Strong Food & Beverage leadership background, including banquet and event-driven operations. Experience leading properties of significant scale (400+ keys preferred). Demonstrated ability to drive leisure, wedding and MICE revenue performance. Strong financial acumen and asset management discipline. Experience managing relationships with sophisticated ownership groups. Preferred Experience: Pre-opening or major repositioning experience. Remote or resort destination leadership exposure. Asia-Pacific market experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Commercial entrepreneurship with a strong revenue optimization mindset. A guest-obsessed luxury service philosophy. Strategic thinking balanced with hands-on operational excellence. Cultural intelligence and the ability to lead diverse teams.
