Job Summary The General Manager will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, and inspirational leadership for JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa Hotel in Chania, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and full alignment with Marriott International brand standards. The GM will oversee all hotel operations, drive commercial success, build high-performing teams, and represent the hotel within the local and international hospitality market. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategy Provide clear vision, direction, and leadership to the Executive Committee and all department heads. Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, accountability, and service aligned with JW Marriott brand values. Translate brand strategy into operational execution while maintaining the unique positioning of the property. Operations & Guest Experience Ensure seamless daily hotel operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa & Wellness, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, and Human Resources. Champion guest satisfaction initiatives and drives continuous improvement based on Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) results and feedback. Ensure compliance with all brand standards, SOPs, health & safety regulations, and local legislation. Financial & Commercial Performance Develop and execute the annual business plan, budget, and long-term financial strategy. Drive revenue growth, profitability, and cost control while maintaining service excellence. Oversee revenue management, sales strategies, pricing, and market positioning to maximize RevPAR and GOP. Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions when required. People & Talent Management Attract, develop, and retain top talent across all levels of the organization. Promote a strong performance management culture, including coaching, succession planning, and leadership development. Ensure high employee engagement, well-being, and alignment with company values. Brand, Stakeholder & Community Relations Act as the primary ambassador of the hotel with owners, brand representatives, key partners, and the local community. Build strong relationships with owners and ensure transparent communication and reporting. Represent the hotel in high-profile events, media engagements, and strategic partnerships. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum 10–15 years of senior leadership experience in luxury or upper-upscale hospitality, including prior General Manager or Hotel Manager role. Proven track record of leading luxury hotel operations to achieve financial and guest satisfaction targets. Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and revenue strategies. Excellent leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with Marriott Luxury Collection standards and pre-opening or opening experience is a plus. Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
