JOB SUMMARY

Do you love pets and have proven leadership experience? Beds for Tails Kennels is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations at our busy dog & cat boarding and daycare facility (plus our seasonal dock diving pool!).

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and inspire a team of 18–20 staff
  • Oversee pet care, customer service, and smooth daily operations
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and an exceptional guest experience
  • Jump in where needed — from staff coaching to helping on the floor

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations at Beds for Tails Kennels, ensuring our mission of providing the best pet care and customer service. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage staff, support clients, and make sure our guests (dogs & cats!) are happy, healthy, and safe.
Note: Personal transportation is required as there is no public transit access.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of 18–20 staff (including an Assistant Manager)
  • Oversee daily operations: daycare, boarding, dock diving, and client services
  • Ensure top standards of pet safety, health, and cleanliness
  • Manage scheduling, reservations, payroll preparations, and administrative tasks and reporting
  • Provide proactive customer service and resolve client concerns
  • Support HR functions: hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Contribute to social media content and community engagement
  • Step in when needed for hands-on kennel work (feeding, cleaning, front desk, etc.)
