Our established GMs work an average 45-hour weekly schedule with two consecutive days off (occasional exceptions apply).
Local restaurant & bar in Old Town, Alexandria, VA, seeks an experienced full-time General Manager.
Who are we? We are a well-established local restaurant group that started in 1979. We recently renovated our restaurant in this emerging area of Old Town Alexandria (north end). There is excellent potential for new branding and establishing ourselves as the go-to place in the growing section of town. We have a fantastic team and are looking for the right person to lead this group and store moving forward.
We have realistic, caring, involved ownership that encourages collaboration with our teams and loves GMs who bring new ideas to life. We are highly focused on hospitality and a hands-on approach, rather than relying on office management with clipboards. We offer a competitive salary for our revenue level, with a good quality of life. Our established GMs work an average 45-hour weekly schedule with 2 consecutive days off (occasional exceptions apply).

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of minimum previous General Manager/Assistant General Manager experience in a casual full-service restaurant with a bar (clubs and hotels not included)
  • P & L management (maintaining food costs, maximizing profitability)
  • Ordering, receiving, and inventory
  • Purveyor management
  • Staff training and motivation
  • Food safety knowledge (certification preferred)
  • Payroll
  • Staff scheduling
  • Menu Creation
  • Follow written recipes and instructions
  • Work in a standing position
  • Managing > 20 employees
