Description
"At Opal HealthCare, we know that companies don't succeed, people do." Our purpose is to bring joy to those we care for. As the leader of a care community, you are the catalyst for this joy, shaping the culture, care, and daily experience for residents, families, and your team. Guided by our values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence, you will lead a thriving community. With over 147 Care Communities and 23,000 team members, Opal HealthCare is one of Australia's leading private aged care providers and we're growing. About the Role: We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead and inspire the team at Phillip Island Care Community, driving operational excellence and strategic success. This opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion, with the current General Manager stepping into a leadership role at one of our brand new Care Community opening in August. She will remain onsite to support a smooth and well‑structured handover. Nestled in the picturesque township of Cowes in Gippsland, our Care Community offers an enviable coastal lifestyle. With north-facing bay beaches, rockpools, and a nearby jetty, residents and team members enjoy fresh sea breezes and open, relaxed surroundings. Why This Role? This is more than a management position; it's an opportunity to be the heart of a thriving community. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding care and create a vibrant home where residents truly feel they belong. Your leadership will directly bring joy to those we care for. What You'll Do: ✔️ Provide inspirational leadership to clinical and non-clinical teams, fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture. ✔️ Be fully accountable for the care community's performance across care quality, financial results, compliance, and resident satisfaction. ✔️ Build strong, trusting relationships with residents, families, team, and the local community. ✔️ Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through effective processes and your dedicated leadership team. ✔️ Live and breathe our values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in every decision and action. What You'll Bring: ✔️ AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse will be highly regarded but is not essential. ✔️ Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leader in a service-driven environment (aged care, health, hospitality, or community sectors). ✔️ A natural ability to inspire, engage, and develop teams, creating a culture where people can be their best. ✔️ A strong commercial and financial acumen, paired with an unwavering passion for delivering exceptional quality care. ✔️ Exceptional communication skills and a visible, hands-on leadership style. ✔️ A deep understanding of quality frameworks, regulatory standards, and risk management. What We Offer You: Dedicated Support: A dedicated Regional General Manager, Senior Area Manager and Regional support Manager as well as access to other regional/national experts in clinical care, sales, hospitality, and HR. National Leadership: A place on our national leadership team with access to sector-leading talent and best practices. Clear Career Growth: A genuine pathway to regional and national roles—we promote from within. Ongoing Development: Leadership programs, training, scholarships, and career pathways to invest in your future. Purpose & Impact: The autonomy to lead and the satisfaction of making a tangible difference every single day. Lead with Purpose If you are a passionate, resilient leader ready to take full ownership of a community and its success, we would love to hear from you.
