About the role

This is a build role: reporting to, and working with, the Managing Director, you'll design the operating platform for the next phase of growth, taking full ownership of day-to-day operations across travel consulting, account management, finance, and technology/solutions teams (~15 experienced professionals). You'll set the operating rhythm of the business: planning, KPIs, standards, a culture of reward, recognition, accountability and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage operational strategy and objectives, working in conjunction with experienced leaders of each area to drive outcomes, set direction and keep business areas aligned
• Drive the adoption and continual improvement of standards, procedures, policies and performance frameworks across every area, embedding them with area leaders
• Support the human side of the business - recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, culture, reward and recognition
• Oversee operational budgeting, forecasting and P&L performance, working with the finance team
• Drive financial visibility, governance, risk management and business continuity across the business
• Guide key supplier and technology partner strategies, overseeing relationships and performance with the leaders who manage them
• Set the standard for consistently excellent service outcomes, supporting customer-facing leaders to deliver satisfaction and retention
• Maintain competitiveness by steering the strategic operational roadmap and future planning
• Build the operational foundations that support the business to scale and power social impact ambitions

About you

• A proven operational leader (GM Operations or similar) with SME or founder-led business experience
• A builder of structure and accountability who strengthens team culture rather than sacrificing it, people-first in approach, balanced with a focus on business outcomes
• Commercially sharp, with strong financial and process discipline
• Energised by the mission and interested in a more united society (travel industry experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
